To ensure a smooth and successful installation, we will be conducting a comprehensive solar site survey at your property. This letter outlines what you can expect during this important process.

What is a Solar Site Survey?

A solar site survey can take up to 2 hours to conduct a detailed evaluation of your property and to assess its suitability for solar panel installation.

 

This survey helps us gather essential information to design an optimal solar energy system tailored to your specific needs and site conditions.

What to expect during the survey

Initial Assessment:

  • Gather Basic Information: We will start by collecting essential information about your energy usage, preferences, and any specific requirements you may have.
  • Pre-qualification: If not already done, we may use satellite images and online data to perform an initial assessment of your site’s solar potential.

On-Site Evaluation:

  • Roof or Ground Space Evaluation: Our team will require access to inspect the available roof or ground space to determine its condition and suitability for solar panel installation. This includes measuring dimensions and assessing the orientation and tilt of the installation area.
  • Shading Analysis: We will evaluate any potential shading from nearby structures, trees, or other obstructions that could impact the efficiency of your solar panels.
  • Structural Assessment: If the installation is on a roof, we will inspect the attic space and structural components to ensure they can support the added load of the solar panels.
  • Electrical Infrastructure: Our team will need access to examine your existing electrical systems, including service panels, to ensure compatibility with the new solar installation.

Data Collection:

  • Photographs and Videos: We will capture detailed photos and videos of the site to provide our design and engineering teams with a comprehensive understanding of the site conditions.
  • Energy Consumption Data: It would be helpful if you can supply an electric bill so we can collect information on your current energy usage to help determine the size and number of solar panels needed to meet your energy demands.  Ideally we would like your estimated annual consumption in kWh.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Local Regulations: We will review and advise on local planning regulations and restrictions to help ensure compliance with necessary standards.
  • Documentation: All gathered information, including site photos and measurements, will be systematically stored and documented for future reference and analysis.
